1. The Balatonfilred shipyard is located between the Balatonf{ired beach and the
first important bend of the road to Tihany.
2. There 1,800 workers who are divided into two shifts.
3. The shipyard takes care of the maintenance and re-air of the entire fleet on
Lake Balaton. It builds the following:;
a. Speedboats
c. Tugboats 250-500tBRT. These are shipped in two parts through the Sio Canal
to the Danube and on to Budapest where they are completed at the Obuda Shipyard.
d. Light and middle-size assault boats for the Hungarian Army and Hungarian River
Guard. In 1953, 11+6 light and 90 middle-sized assault boats were completed.
These boats were built of aluminum plates riveted on Duralumin frames.
e. In addition to the above standard projects, the shipyard built in 1953:
