1. A conference of leading officials of the Union of Railroad Employees (Svaz
zamestnancu zeleznic) of the entire country was held in Prague on 21 and 22
August 1954.
2. The chairman of the Union, Jiri Kos, informed the members that during the
period from 1 January 1953 to 30 June 1954 altogether 261 members were
expelled from the Union.
