From 8 to 12 May 1954, Soviet submarine which was observed in 25X1 Novorossiysk put to sea every morning,returning in the evening. It was about 75 meters long, with a rounded bow, a vertically rising, slightly rounded bridge stepped toward the stern, and a gradually sloping after- deck which carried no armament. A gun of about 100-millimeter caliber was located immediately forward of the conning tower. An antenna extended from the stem, over the bridge, to the stern? The submarine had no net cutter. 2. Four or five small vessels were also in port. 25X1 Each. vessel was about 25 meters ong, witn a raking open bridge structures, a flush continuous deck, a flat cabin extending over two-thirds of the fantail, and several canvas-covered objects on the after section of the fantail near the square stern. They were armed with a light machine gun of an estimated caliber of 30 millimeters and two machine guns, one each on the starboard and port sides.. 3. Another vessel moored in the harbor had a raking stem, a short foredeck with a single gun of about 50-millimeter caliber mounted behind a protecting shield, squat bridge structures with a mast with top mast jutting from the middle, and a short smokestack with a slanting hood immediately aft of, and a little higher than, the bridge. The ship's side sloped toward the stern, beginning abeam the smokestack. Low deck structures, with a small machine gun atop, were on the afterdeck, which had a square stern.
