During the past year all Cominformists imprisoned in Yugoslavia, regardless
of the terms of their respective sentences, were released from prison. The
pretext for their release, as given by the authorities, was that the Comin-
formists are already re-educated. After their release they were quickly
assigned by the authorities to various posts with Government enterprises
regardless of the fact they did not have professional experience or the
necessary education for their posts. The major part of them were Army and
UDB officers and Party functionaries before their imprisonment. Some of
them have become managers of trading enterprises and are permitted to
travel abroad. They have financial means and they live lavishly.
