REMARKS.
1. The following observations were made at Aspern airfield between 0800 and 1400
on 28 September 1954:
Twenty-eight MiG-15s and 3 Yak-lls were parked there. No air activity was
conducted. There was a 1/10 overcast at an altitude of about 1,000 meters, 25X1
intermittent rain, a westerly wind of about 15 1mt/h and visibility of 1 km.
Two gray crates were observed near the aircraft repair shop. The AA gun
emplacements were unoccupied and unguarded. Four tank trucks were parked in
the western fuel dump. Ve building 25X1
involved 2 van-like trucks .3 trucks
All of the vehicles
had drivers
wearing black-bordered blue epaulets, een trucks and 5 van-like trucks were
parked ih the sheds of the garage installation and 6 tank trucks were parked in
th4open in front of the sheds.
2. Numerous Soviet children with satchels entered No 7Sieges Platz in the Asper 5X1
military post. Building No 29 on Wimpfen Gasse was occupied by personnel wear...e
black-bordered blue epaulets. Sentries wearing the same service color were posted
in front of the cantonment. The other buildings were no longer occupied by Soviets.
3. The Konrad Kaserne in the Gross Enzersdorf military post was frequented by officers
and soldiers wearing black-bordered blue epaulets, and guarded by sentries with the
same service color. The following motor vehicles were parked in the yard of the
former home for aged people:
11 Trucks, with mounted searchlight and
6 van--like trucks
Comment. It is believed that Aspern airfield is still occupied by a Soviet
fighter regiment.
