The'following air activity and aircraft were observed at Parchim airfield on 16 and 17 September 1954: .16 Settember. At 1750, 10 MiG-15e or-U-MIG-15s were counted at the field. At 2100, there was qir activity by 5 jet fighters which took off in rapid succession and flew with'set position lights. One aircraft flew in the beams of a searchlight in the vicinity of the field. 17 September, At 1100, 1 MIG-15 or U-MG-15 landed at the field. A total of 10 jet fighters were counted on the dispersal areas of the field.1 2. About 0800 on 29 September, 3 I1-28s were parked north of the runway. At 0940, 7 MiG-15s or U-MiG-15s with their noses pointing to the northwest were observed at the eastern end of the runway. The apertures of the jet engines were closed by red caps. Auxiliary fue*anks-were'fitted under the wings.. No maintenance personnel were seen near the aircraft. In the northern section of the landing field were 5 141E-15a or U-MiG-15s on which maintenance work was being done. No air activity was observed.] 3. No changes were observed on the radio installation in the eastern extension of the runway beyond the training area and on the Kniferest-type radar set at the n edge of the field. About 10 meters from the set was a mast, about 6 meters high and 20 em in diameter, with a top looking like a chimney cowl. About 100 meters west of the east end of the runway was a steel mast, about 8 meters high, braced by 2 guy wires and with an umbrella-type antenna the rods of which were about 1 meter long. A radio truck was observed in the vicinity of the mast.2 The fuel containers in the fuel dump were covered. Five trailers of tank trucks 5.
