Between 0630and 1700, formation flying-was practiced by MiG-15s or -MIG-15a which disappeared from view flying in close order formation at an altitude of about 12,000 meters. A total of 21 Jet fighters were counted In the eastern section of the field was a radio installation of one mast a red flashing light which was also in operation during the daytime. The landing lights were also on, probably because of the poor visibility on this day. Comflared motor vehicles were ked at the field. 5 Oeteha'. At 1100, 26 MG-158 'or U-MiG-15s took off heading east. They were not seen returning to the field. At a later hour no aircraft were observed at the field. The radio installation had also disappeared. An previously reported, the field was being vacated during the afternoon of 5 October. I20 to 30-MiG-15s or U-MIG-15a had still been stationed there. A r=or had it that, on 1 October,.2 jet fighters cc.ided in the air near Dessau and one of them made an emergency landing in the open field in the vicinity of the village of Toerten near Dessau. The pilot who had a broken arm was freed from the squeezed cabin. 50X1-HUM M A previous report contained the first information on the 50X1-HUM occupation of Dassan airfUlbl in connection with the fall maneuvers after Sertem ber 1 the aircraft had come from Merseburg. Truck was previously observed in Merseburg and Wittenberg.
