During the noon hours on 19 September 1954, no aircraft were seen parked
at Doeberitz airfidid: u c -eti}1 wed fter>be :. w At about 1000
on 3 October, 36 Il-lOs took off in elements of two from west to east,
headed west and disappeared. After the departure of the aircraft, about
30 I1-lOs were still parked at the field. No aircraft were seen in the
open hangars. At about 1100, 36 I1-lOs crossed over the field heading
east. About half an hour later, 36 Il-10s-bok off and, after their
departure, no aircraft were observed at the field. The aircraft which
had taken off about 1000, landed at about 1150 and the second
formation landed at about 1300. 1
A PKV-45 DF station was located outside of the western border of the
field. About 100 meters east of the DF station was a radio truck
with a telescopic mast about 5 meters hi h. 2 At, ut 1130,
three tank trucks left the 50X1-HUM
field and proceeded toward ustermark. uck loaded with
coal, went toward the Richthofen Kaserne. 3
3. Around noon of 25 September, formations of Il-lOs were seen flying over
Doeberitz. At about 1400, a formation of about 12 I1-lOs landed at
the field. In the evening, a searchlight was seen in the direction
of the field. On 27 September, single-engine aircraft were parked
at the field.
4. The following air activity and aircraft were seen at the field between
27 September and 6 October:
27 September. At about 1215, a single-engine high-wing monplane landed
at the field. When the aircraft crossed over the installation, a 2 -man
crew was definitely observed in the plane. At about 1230, an I1-10
approached from the direction of Falkensee and landed at the field. At
1425, a formation of 12 Il-lOs approached from the direction of
FalkAmsee, circled once, and then landed at the field. At about 15C0,
8 I1-10s approached from the west and landed. At about 1600, about 20
Il-10a and 1 high-wring monoplane were parked in the northern section of
the field.

28 September to 2 October. There was air activity by Il-lOs which flew
in formations of various sizes which sometimesheaded southwest. They
returned to the field after different flight times, sometimes after
15 to 30 minutes.
3 Oc be . At about 1100, 18 Il-lOs took off heading west. Prior to the
take-off, at about 1010, a larger formation of twin-engine aircraft
had been seen aloft. After a short time, the aircraft were followed by
another formation of 30 to 40 Il-l0s.
6 October. During the evening, no aircraft were parked at the field.
5. On 27 September, formations of 12 I1-10s repeatedly crossed over
Rathenow. Yellow propeller hubs were identified on some aircraft.
At about 1130 on 3 October, several formations, including twin-engine
aircraft, crossed over Rathenow. A formation of 12 Il-lOs flew first.
They were followed by twin-engine aircraft at the sides of which
flew Il-10s. About 15 MiG-15s or U-Mid15s circled over the entire
formation. 1
6. The following observations were made at the field between 28 September
and 6 October:
28 to 30 September. Formation flying.was practiced by Il-10s. The
aircraft took off in rapid succession and then assembled in formations
of 8 to 12. These small formations assembled in larger formations.
About 40 aircraft were once seen aloft at the same time. The landings
were also made in rapid succession.
1 October. Formation flying was still practiced in addition to dives
over the Doeberitz troop training grounds south of the field. I1-lOs
and jet fighters were repeatedly seen aloft at the same time. One
helicopter was also seen flying.
6 October. Formations with a total of 72 aircraft departed. Simultaneously,
about 80 officers who had been quartered in the gymnasium of the
Richthofen Kaserne, which was called building No 15, left the
installation. In addition, about 20 trucks, 1 radio truck and some
field kitchens which had been parked and camouflaged in the western
section of the field since late September left the kaserne. the

7. The following observations were made between 30 September and 2 October:
30 September. Single-engine aircraft were seen in the southwestern section
of the field. A large tent was located nearby. Additional aircraft
were parked at the southern edge of the field. .., '
2 October. The aircraft at the field were parker, rge intervals
and were camouflaged by bushes against view from , r_

2 October. About 60 air force soldiers dug machine-gun emplacements,
foxholes and somm nication trenches along the edge of the field.
About 1010 on 1 Oc be , 32 Il-lOs were seen flying over Falkensee
heading in the direction of Doeberitz airfield. They circled over
the field, dispersed, and landed from east to west. 1
C n . Between 25 September and 6 October 1954, Doeberitz airfield
was occupied by Il-lOs of the ground attack division in Brandenburg
which participated in the fall maneuvers of the Soviet Army. The
