On 30 October the following landing craft and naval vessels were observed in
Shanghai: 25X1
a. An unarmed olive drab LST At the Farnham Boyd flock.
b. Two LST's, two frigates, and two river gunboats at the 1oller's Shipyard.
c. One LST at bouy number 33.
d. Two LCM's at buoy number 37.
e. Two LST's and one LCM at the fisheries factory.

f. Two river gunboats, five LCVP's and one armed tug above Woosung Fort.
g. Three warships, one possibly a light cruiser, further up the Yangtze from
the above mentioned points.
h. Numerous LCVP's plying the river.
Comment. The "warhips" were probably up the Whangpoo rather
Comment . The view was obscured by warehouses and the identification
of the vessel was uncertain. A light cruiser has been in this location for
than the Yangtze. The presence of a light cruiser in Shanghai has not
been confirmed. This sighting report appears to be mediocre and the term
"light cruiser" was probably the result of inexperienced reporting. 25X1
