2.. On 22 September, a train with undetermined number and type of cars,and
unknown destination left Brandis airfield. Between 22 September and
7 October, 2 to 3 railroad cars with construction material were unloaded
almost daily near hangar No 6. According to a German worker, a loading
ramp was under construction northwest of this hangar. 2
3. On 14 October, preparations for the re-occupation of the field were
apparently made. The fuel dump was supplied by 16 railroad tank cars.
Newly manufactured trucks arrived. An advance detail of 130 to 150
personnel were present at the field. An additional 800 to 1,000 personnel 25X1
were expected to arrive. 3
comment. The purpose for which construction material was unloaded
at the field is unknown.
Comment. It is believed that the ground attack regiment, which, in
mid way 1954, transferred to the Alt Loennewitz and Finsterwalde airfields
for re-training, will return to Brandis airfield.
