The National Plant No. 14 in Biala was built in 1945 and at that time only constructed spare parts for automobiles. Since 1952 it has been producing airplane engines. The aeronautical plant is a branch of the former 25X1 Cegielski Works in Chrzanow. 2. The plant is under Soviet supervision. The manager is engineer Aleksandrov, a Russian who is a Communist and a member of the MGB. 3. The plant employs 1,200 workers, of whom 120 are technicians, engineers, white-collar workers,'and guards. 4. The plant produces 50 hp. boxer engines; 90 hp. Shvertsov engines (radial 5. the USSR. engines), and 225 hp. radial engines. The monthly production is 50 engines. The entire production is turned over to the Soviet aeronautical plants in Gri.bovskiy,Nikitin, and.Goloyev, where trainer planes are con- structed for the Soviet Armed Forces and for paramilitary organizations. The raw materials are supplied by Polish factories. The machinery came from 6.
