Seventeen T-34 tanks and 15 boxearloade of ammunition were unloaded and left for the Flak Kaserne, 11 November 1954 25X1 1. Between 15 and 19 October 1954, the units from the Wittenberg post 25X1 returned from the summer camp to the Flak Kaserne (3583), the Beseler Xaserne (3584) and the Arado installation (3582)oThe first rail shipment of 21 T-34 tanks, 17 trucks and 4 boxcarloads of ammunition arrived from Jueterbog at about 1500 on 15 October. A short time later, the shipment was followed by a second train with Soviet families and billeting equipment which came from Jueterbog and 25X1 were shipped to the Arado installation, Another train from Jueterbog On- 17 October, tank and vehicle columns continually arrived by road in Wittenberg throughout the day. The columns came from the north and the northwest. A total of at least 231 armored vehicles, particularly T-34/85 tanks, JS.3 tanks and SU 122 guns were seen, The vehicles apparently returned from employment, reportedly in the woods in the vicinity of Wiesenburg-Belzig -Straach-Zepmick, north of Wittenberg, the columns had been stationed in the vicinity of Wiesenburg for about 1 woek.1 3. The tanks observed included a new type of tank which had tracks and suspensions similar to a JS-3 tank, and a turtle-shaped turret with an almost pointed front section. The tank was considerably lower than a JS-3 tank and its gun had a caliber of 122 mm. The new tanks were distributed among the units.2 4. While the units returned to the installations, groups of 20 to 30 recruits were seen in the town,3 northeast of Wittenberg, was confiscated, 6. At 0530 on 19 October. a shipment of 20 JS-2 tanks 5. An area of approximately 25 hectares on the right side of the dust road adjoining the tank training area between Euper and Woltersdorf 6 trucks and 7 boxc?a with personnel was seen at the Wittenberg railroad station.
