1. At 0630 on 3 November 1954, 20 x 152-mm field howitzers on 10 25X1
flatcars with sideracks were seen at the Bernau fraight station.
The barrels of the howitzers which were covered projected about 2
meters beyond the protective shield, apparently had muzzle brakes and
a caliber of about 15 cm. The howitzers were single-tired. A handwheel
was on the right side behind the protective shield which was backward
bent and had slanting lower corners, The rearward gun-trail crosspieces
mounted rods which pointed diagonally upward.
3. On 5 November, the Reiter Kaserne (4041) in Beesko4 was fully lighted.
Fourteen trucks were seen in the norht section of the installation. An
undetermined number of artillery pieces appeared to be stored in a vehicle
shed.

In late October, 20 to 30 Soviet officers were observed in the barracks

Ommomment. If the howitzers actually had muzzle brakes, they were

the installtion tends to indicate that an arrival of equipment was observed.
No information has so far been received on a reequipping of artillery units
of the 7th Gds Mecz Div and the 7th Light Arty Brig. 25x1

2. Comment. The return from the summer camp of the 468th Gds
or' egt of the 7th Gds Mecz Div on 25 and 26 September was previously
reported The observation of artillery pieces
in the Reiter aser-n , w is is a ieved to be occupied only by the
mortar regiment, supports a previous assumption, according to which the
medium mortar units of the mortar regiments were possibly reequipped with
artillery pieces. The motor vehicle are believed to
belong to the 7th Gds Mecz Div and al' ut one to the 468th Gds Mort Regt
of this division.
3 ~ Comment. Since several officer courses of GSFG were previously held
in the barracks installation on Straussee, the information may be correct,
