SUBJECT Soviet Promotion of'Warrant Officers This is UNEVALUATED Information THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE. THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) According to the regulations of the Soviet army, non-commissioned officers may be pramted to the rank of junior lieutenant, provided they are trained at a military college for two years. The Soviets have a military school at Jabrayil (sic), where ser- geants and junior officers are trained. However, if an officer wishes to earn further romotions, he has to attend one of the military schools located in Baku (N 14O-25, E 49-50), 8alyany (N 39-35) E 48-59), or Tbilisi (N 41-42) E 44-45).l 25X1 Coament.
