Information
During the month of September. 1951i,'unknown saboteurs caused considerable damage
to the hydroelectric complex under construction inthe.Rhodope Mountains, in.the
Debrashtitsa (N 42-06,E-24-15) Batak' (N. )41-56,:. E 24-i3) area* 25X1
2. In,particular, the opening of.the. main dam of a microdyke, done at night, caused
the flooding of a tunnel to be.used.as a pressure. water conduit. The excavation
of this.tunnel between Rakitovo.(N L1-59, E 24-05) and'Dorkovo (N 42-03, E 24-08)'
had been recently completed.
3. This ' flooding. resulted. in the, loss of a?large quantity ?of equipment, machinery,

tools, and , miscellaneous materiel, and the death of eight workers and three
technicians who were sleeping. in .a shed located immediately in. front of the 25X1

asleep in the morining. It is believed that during the banquet held the previous
evening to celebrate the completion.of the tunnel, a sleeping potion was given
to the guards.
