During Septwaber and early October 1954, there were recurrent rumors among Austrian employees of the 3 viet-Qontrolled D~SG that the coisr upy would be merged with the wholly Soviet SDO, The conviction is now growing among Austrian employees that the merger will not take place, mainly because construction of the ship I)SKVA for Soviet DWO account at the Korneuburg shipyard is proceeding as scheduled and new Austrian office workers are being hired by the Soviet DDS0. 2. The new national Danube shipping coapsnies M*HABT (Hungarian) and SWR (Rumanian), which were formed after the SOviete.withdrew from former joint companies HES2,HART and S$T, will not be permitted to carry SAV petroleum products from Lobau, Austria, to the Soviet Uccton. In both cases, the previously existing joint companies had shared in this traffic. Presumably the volume of petroleum moved from SMV Lobau to the USSR will remain at the former level but will be carried only by Soviet DDSG and SDGP vessels.
