On 13 August 1954, six submarines of different types and sizes were moored in 25X1 the western section of the large harbor basin in Kronshtadt. Vessels seen in the central section of r included a large submarine salvage vessel destroyer a four:masted barque, probably the former PADUA: and fleet auxiliary vases 1 Numerous medium-sized and small naval 25X1 vessels were moored at the rear of the harbor basin. Two ships with heavy superstructures, apparently coast guard monitors, were seen. A medium-sized floating dock with the inscription "Danziger Werft" (Danzig Shipyard) was moored at the inner side of the harbor. A large floating dock of over 10,000 tons capacity was moored off the eastern shore of Kronshtadt Island. Two large cranes were fitted on the walls of the empty dock. 25X1 2. On 27 August, several submarines of different sizes were moored in the submarine basin in the western section of Kronshtadt harbor. The former battleship MARAT, a large four-masted barque painted gray, and a large floating dock of about 25X1 10,000 tons capacity with the inscription "Danziger Werft" were moored in the central basin. The masts and smokestacks of a cruiser were observed in the graving dock in the background. The cruiser was partially blocked from view by the MARAT. Numerous medium-sized and small naval vessels were moored in the eastern section of the harbor. A large floating dock painted gray was seen on the east side of the island. 25X1 3, On 5 September, two SVERDLOV-Class cruisers, destroyer ~ and two four-masted barques were berthed in the central basin. Six submarines and five or six PT boats were seen in the harbor basin after nightfall. The large floating dock moored at the east side of the island was brightly illuminated but empty at the time it was observed. Two SVERDLO -Class cruisers, one single-stack cruiser, an old battleship, and a fleet auxiliary vessel were secured to mQoring buoys in Kronshtadt roads. 25X1 Comment: The four-masted barque PADUA was renamed the KRUGENSHTERN.
