1. At 1350 hours'on 27 August 1954, a medium-sized submarine with, a single gun
on the foredeck was sighted in position N 60-00-15, E 29-05. The submarine 25X1
changed its course and rate of speed several times during observation.
2. At 0810 hnura on 0 Aentnmhpr_ it lay! tyro-stack destroyer was sighted
It steered an easterly course at
a speed of 30 to 35 knots. At 1000 hours, another two-stack destroyer was
sighted on an easterly course proceeding at slow speed in position N 59-47,
E 24-30. 25X1
3. At 104 hours .on 6 September, a group 'of naval vessels consisting of one
submarine and five M-type minesweepers was sighted at N 59-37, E 24-32. The
group at first steered a course 60 degrees true, later turning toward Naissaar
Island. All the minesweepers had tripod masts. The submarine had two guns, 25X1
one on the foredeck and one aft of the conning tower.
4. At 1315 hours on 6 September, a group of five M-type minesweepers was sighted
at N 59-20, E 23-05 proceeding in a large circle with sweeping equipment out. 25X1
The vessels had tripod masts and were of the same type as those sighted at
1045 hours.
