DATE PREPARED 21 December 1954
1. Between 1100 and 1300 on 12 November 1954, no air activity was observed
a~ Schoenefeld airfield. A total of 15 twin-engine airc;raft 3 biplanes
and 1 high-wing monoplane were parked at the field. ThE~ radio stations
were at their previous locations. No new installations were seen.
2. Soviet commercial aircraft landed at Schoenefeld airfield on 2, 8, 9, and
1 November. Soviet ersonnel were daily hauled to KarJ.shorst on sedans
the driver of thES latter vehicle wore
black-bordered blue epaulets.
3. The target ranges, which hsd formerly been located just south of the
southwestern end of the runway, were newly established west of the south-
-westernmost quartering building of Schoenefeld, north of the Diepensee
estate. The road which extended from Diepensee toward i;he northeast was no
longer used and had been replaced by a by-pass road which made a bend to the
southeast and, after a stretch, extended to the north-northeast, and terminated
in the old road approximately in line with triangulation point 44.7?

Comment. No observations pare made indicating a change in the occupation
of Schoenefeld airfield. The field is occupied by a trf~,nsport regiment
and a transport and courier squadron of Li-2s. It is also used by aircraft
of civil aviation.
