1. The reorganization of the National Security Corps (Sber narodni bezpeonosti-SNB)
into Public Security (Verejna bezpecnost-VB) was accompanied by a replacement of
khaki uniforms with dark blue uniforms and red epaulets. Sl mambers.who police
labor camps and other' corrective institutions kept their former khaki uniforms,
which may indicate that they.organlcal]y belong to the State Security (Statni
bezpecnost-StB), who also remained in khaki uniforms.
2. A change of police ranks took place at the time of the reorganisation. The former
Czech NCO rank designations were replaced by new ones of Soviet style, in the
following manner:

Strazmistr - Sersant (Sergeant).
Stabni etrasmistr - Starsi sersant (Senior sergeant)
Vrchni straznistr - Starsina (Sergeant major)
