REMARKS
1. From 1951 to 30 June 1954, the following radar station and military
installations apparently assigned to the radar station were observed
in the Plana (49052' N/12?44'E) area:
a. A radar station was located west of kiesenreuth (.:irizenec)
(4953 N/1247 E) on triangulation point 642. larious buildings
were surrounded by a barbed-wire fence. Three earth bunkers
were built in the elevation of triangulation point 642. Two
trucks were parked in 2 bunkers and the medium bunker housed
a rotatable cabin from which a mast with a radar screen
projected. The radar screen had the shape of a flat quadrant
formed by wires and slightly bent at the edges. The screen
could make complete rotations. An undeteri:iined number of wires
extended from the screen into the cabin.
three bunkers housed a device by means of whiciz the direction
of flight of approaching aircraft could be determined. Three
low wooden barracks and 2 smaller brick buildings were located
about 400 meters south of the bunkers. The former buildings
were occupied by about 130 soldiers who wore khaki uniforms with
red-bordered black epaulets. These soldiers were also seen
rrequenting the local inn. One of the two brick buildings housed
a kitchen and the other building housed offices.
