RD REFERENCES From 28 August to 4 September 1954, the following Soviet naval vessels were observed in Leningrad harbor: 28 August Minesweeper possibly T- 3 Class 28 August MT boats Remarks Put to sea; small boats,about 15 meters long,with bridge superstructure similar to submarine conning tower,; 'short torpedo tubes with hydraulic discharge fittings on either side of the turret; three sliding bars at the stern to guide the boat at high speed (sic). 30 August Minesweeper Put to sea probably on a trial run; modern possibly T-4+3 Class vessel with superstructure, tripod mast, and *.raked.' Stack, long bows mounting a gun, another gun on the after section of the ship, a twin-barreled AA gun on either side of the bridge, and two more on either side of the funnel. 30 August Submarine) Put to sea from the direction of Baltic Ship- GJ/~I yard:; a new submarine of approximately 1,500 tons, about 70 meters long, with a new-type bulbous bow; armed with a gun with twin-barreled mount on the foredeck, an AA gun on either side of the tower, two heavy machine guns and a snorkel device at the trailing edge of the tower, seven torpedo tubes, four fore and three aft; the crew of the conning tower was under deck, with observation through a glass window.
