The Ruse Airfield, 2,700 x 1,100 meters in size, is located eight kilometers northeast of the Ruse eastern. limits and 800 meters south of the Ruse-Tutrakan road. The airfield is in the form of a rectangle, with the longest axis in an east-north-east and west-south-west direction. The airfield is not yet in operation. 2. Construction of the airfield began in 1953, and in 1954, construction was started on the runway. The runway, running in an east-west direction, received a basalt stone foundation and rocks and is covered with concrete. It is 60 meters wide and 2,300 meters long. It begins 150 meters east of the west side of the airfield and ends approximately 250-300 meters west of the east side. (The accuracy of this information is unknown). With the exception of a few details, the runway was completed in the summer of 1954. No taxiway has as yet been built. fighter 25X1 aircraft units will be stationed there at theaend of 1954. At present, the airfield is unoccupied. 4. Foundations for six buildings have been excavated on the north side of the airfield. According to rumors, the hangars, headquarters building, and barracks will be built there. Construction work is proceeding It is rumored that the airfield will be responsible for the air defense of the Ruse-Giurgiu bridge.
