Considerable construction work was in progress in the 'bay area. In Vayenga Bay, everai merchant vessels loading or unloading lumber. North- east of Salnyy Island (N 69-08, E 33-26), there were several new buildings on the shore of Kola Inlet, and beyond Salnyy Island on the western shore of the inlet, there were also several buildings and radio masts.
