(POs III! ) A Soviet army tailor shop was located in front of the Soviet-oooupied barracks at 6 Heinrich-Heine-Strasse in Prenzlau. The shop was subordinate to Konsum-Spezialhandel- Abteilung 8 which had its central office at 14 Karl-von-Ossietzky-Strasse in Eberswalde. Very few instructions were actually issued by the Ederswalde office for the Prenzlaux installation. The mail, however, was always routed through Eberswalde. 2. The services of the tailor shop were available to Soviet units as well as individual officers and civilian employees of the Soviet army. Units placed their orders and made their payments through the superior unit in Eberswalde; private customers dealt directly with the tailor shop. There was no direct contact between the all-German staff of the tailor shop and Soviet officials, although the shop used the telephone of the Soviet officers' post exchange. 3. Prices to be charged were fixed by Spetetorg-Tsentrosnab in Leipzig. A new price list, effective 1 September 1954 and signed by Lt. Gen. Andrevsky, was received in Prenzlau via the Eberswalde office and contained the following changes: Article (il ) Now price Old Price c a"s?mar s (East~marks) overcoat (heavy) 117.25 125.00 overcoat 112.50 120.00 jacket 84.14 97.00 blouse (full dress) 102.60 115.00 blouse 87.20 98.00 trousers 32.93 32.93 breeches 38.02 38.02 (NOTE: WodhinpSn didHbMion indkef. by "r's Field ?M&vfta 41 Approved For Release 2008/03/05: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA005900420005-9 25X1 Approved For Release 2008/03/05: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA005900420005-9 Old Price 25X1 (m tarry) ( stua stag s shirt 32.80 32.80 (civilian) overcoat (heavy) 118.00 115.00 overcoat 115.00 115.00 suit 110.00 118.00 Supposedly, these prices were the same as those paid by the Soviet aray in the USSR, with an allowance for the cost of exchange from rubles to eastmarks.l 4.
