During his whole term of active service he was stationed only in Pomerania. During this time, he was also detached to several estates for harvesting. An officer 25X1 u told the soldiers who were detached as harvesters 1. A Polish soldier who was an ethnic German, work. Only those who were paid should work. While stationed in Pomerania, soldiers 25X1 reqYy found bones of unburied German soldiers w,o were i e in action in World War II. Soldiers who were ethnic 25X1 Poles trampled upon the skeletons. 2. A soldier who was an ethnic German,l and was discharged in October 1954 was registered for the draft in September of 1952. On the date of registration, the men examined received notices of induction which ordered them to report to an office of the Polish Armed Forces in Ra.stenburg (R 55/A 29). The Germans were told they were Polish even without their consent if they lived in the country longer than five years. In Warsaw several Germans refused to put on Polish uniforms and to be sworn in.
