Werk Roter Stern, previously known as Buessing N.A.G., in Leipzig-Wahren,is still
under Russian control as are five other plants in East Germany. The plant is
administered by representatives of the Russian Army, some of whom are in uniform.
2. The plant assembles trucks for military purposes and armored infantry carriers of
the Russian type. Monthly output is' 23 to 35 trucks and carriers.
3. About 800 workers, principally specialists, are employed at Werk Roter Stern.
As the Russian administration of the plant has tried to raise the production
quota, there has been a strong tendency among the workers to leave the plant.
However, preventive measures taken by the East German administration have reduced
this tendency considerably.
