to In December 1954, a concrete bridge was under construction across the so-called
"Pahler Hake)", a Marrow stretch of water between the ~.ie:oohoe: penirs 1a and

road construction work was known to be under way on Ruegen Island. 25X1
2. The road bridge over the Grosse-Reglitz River in the extension of ul.Gdanska
(Altdammer Strasse) was being reconstructed. Construction workers were housed
in temporary buildings on u10 Gdaneka. After the war, the destroyed bridge was
replaced by a two-lane bridge built of American material immediately south 25X1
of the site of the destroyed bridged
Comment. The Isle of Ummanz is off the middle of the western coast of 25X1
Ruegen Island Prior to World War III the two islands were connected b,y a road
bridge which crossed the "Pahier Hak1in" near intl.... It is unkno n , whether
this bridge was destroyed at the and of the war or not. In view of the
financial plight of the GDR which led to considerable cuts in all government
construction projects, it is surprising that this bridge, which is of very
little economic tmportanoe, is to be rebuilt. In any cars, the project was not
included in the 1954 road bridge construction program of the GDR Ministry of
Traffic. It is believed that construction work will be financed by Bezirk

Comment. This bridge is on the Danzig v Stargard w Altdam? -- Stettin 25X1
