1. The Electrocablu plant, located about ten kilometers from Bucharest, was
recent)y expanded with machinery and equipment coming from Czechoslovakia
and the USSR. At the present time the plant employs 800 workers including
specialists who are recent graduates of technical schools. The plant is
under the supervision of Rumanian specialists with Soviet engineers as
technical advisors. Virgil Danciu is the director of the plant and
Vladimir Gavilenko and Ion Chelemen are two engineers employed there.
2. Electrocablu produces the following: industrial cable, inter-urban
telephone cable, automotive cable, insulated wire, various types. of in-
sulators, radio wire, and wire for the armed forces.
