the Chiahsing (N 30-46, E 120-45) district administrative govern-
ment was making preparations to close its offices. and it was said that all per-
sonnel in this government were to be transferred to the pro- 25X1
vincial government and to various hsien governments. This move was in keeping
with the Chinese Communist decision to eliminate district administrative govern-
ments and to have only provincial and hsien governments as administrative organs
under the central government.
