OF PAGES 1 25X1 REQUIREMENT NO. RD 1. The port of HeApsalu had a run-down and deteriorated appearance. Few new buildingsw?re being constructed and many of the war-damaged buildings were still u.hrepaired. None of the mooring places for the Vormsi ferry had been repaired. There was very little traffic in the harbor, and all the maritime commerce for the Haapsalu area was routed via the Rohukula loading place, about 10 kilometers west-southwest of Haapsalu:. 2e. The airfield at Ungru, about four kilometers westrtsouthwest of Haapsalu, measures about 1,500 meters by 100 meters. The field appeared to be rather moist, and had at least two runways, surfaced with sand or possibly with concrete. In May 1954 there were approximately 10 propeller-driven aircraft,. mostly old fighter aircraft, on the field. 3. On the Kilsi estate, about two kilometers east of Ungru, there were some barracks and two-family houses for-air force personnel, some of which seemed to be of comparatively recent construction. 4. In May 1954 an infantry unit of about the size of a regiment occupied the barracks at Uuemoisa, about two kilometers east of Haapsalu.
