In late November, more naval fliers tian previously were observed in Wolga25X1 3. Between 30 November and 17 December, only little air activity was observed at Peenemuende airfield. Six to 8 MiG-15s or U-MiG-15s, 3 tractors and 2 tank trucks were permanently parked south of the main runway. The crews arrived by truck before aiI activity started. No barracks for the personnel was observed at the field. 25X1 4. The area between the eastern taxiway and the edge of the wood was used as dispersal area. Serviceable revetments existed at the edge of the wood both south and north of the flying lane. Aircraft were seldom seen being 2 parked there. It could not be observed how the aircraft were camouflaged, 5. The vehicles used for towing aircraft resembled the large tractors formerly used by the German Wehrmacht. They Fad a closed driver's cabin qnd aft of it a box for tools, ropes etc. It could not be definitely observed whether the rear dual-wheels were fitted on a single-axle or a double-axle. The aircraft were apparently coupled to the trctor by means ofashort towing rod The towing speed was about 20 km/h. 6. SED functionaries launched recruiting campaigns in Wolgast for the National Armed Forces. There was a negative result at one plant. Results at other plants were not known. 1.1 Comment. It is believed that Peenemuende airfield is still occupied by a naval fighter regiment. Only little air activity was observed. 2.I Comment. The eastern dispersal area between the eastern taxiway and th4 edge of the wood has been reported repeatedly. According to available information, however, only the revetments south of the flying lane have previously been known. Comment. The towing of ai-cra.ft by means of towing nods was also /\ observed at other airfields.
