1. VEB Transformatoren- and Roentgenwerk (TRARO) Dresden (the former Koch and
Sterzel firm) is one of the enterprises under the Main Administration for
Electrical Machine Construction (HET Elektromaschinenbau VEY) headed by
Kurt Friedel, in the Production Area Energy and Power Machine Construction
(Bereich Energie- and Kraftmaschinenbau) headed by Deputy Minister Erich Apel,
.of the East German Ministry for Machine Construction. The main compound of the
enterprise is located on Overbeckstrasse in Dresden-Uebigau. A trade school and
laboratory for apprentice training, affiliated with the enterprise, is located 25X1
in Dresden-Klotzsche.
2. The enterprise was headed by Manager (Werkdirektor) Alfred Heichel until late
1954 The position was not filled as of late December 1954
but is being provisionally administered by a special appointee of the Ministry for
Machine Construction, Hermann Famula, who is production chief of the Main Administra-
tion for Electrical Machine Construction. The following departments are directly
under the manager:
a. Cadre Department (Kaderabteilung), headed by Thuemmler (fnu).
b. Security Department (Sicherheitsinspektion),.headed by Gruetzner (fnu).
c. Archives and Literature Departrent, headed by Frenzel (fnu).
d. Plant Auditing Department (Innenrevision), headed by Voigt (fnu).
e. Quality Control and Test Fields (Guetekontrolle and Prueffelder),
headed by von Schieszl (fnu).
f. Central Planning Department (Zentrale Planung), headed by Westerhoff (fnu).
