was sighted off Lavansaari heading an easterly course and proceeding
at between 15 and 18 knots.
At about 0930 on 13 November 1954, a Soviet war vessel was sighted
on.a westerly .course proceeding at a speed of eight or nine knots.

sma~l gun behind a protective shield on the foredeck, had a flat
bridge with projecting wings and a mast with topmast on the bride.
A squat smokestack with a slanting hood and a total height exceeding
that of the bridge was located just aft of the bridge. The deck
sheered at the after end of the bridge, a.nd several unidentified

2. At 0930 on 11 December 1954, a Soviet cruiser
