At about 0930 on 13 November 1954, a Soviet war vessel was sighted on.a westerly .course proceeding at a speed of eight or nine knots. near Fa.ckerort. This vessel was about 30 meters long, carried a sma~l gun behind a protective shield on the foredeck, had a flat bridge with projecting wings and a mast with topmast on the bride. A squat smokestack with a slanting hood and a total height exceeding that of the bridge was located just aft of the bridge. The deck sheered at the after end of the bridge, a.nd several unidentified apparatus and a gun behind a. protective shied vrere seen on the fa.r.ta.il. 2. At 0930 on 11 December 1954, a Soviet cruiser Prom clocktime 0010 to clocktime 0150 on 14 December 1954, a vest,el Describing circles about 1.5 sea miles in diamter at slow speed maintained a position ir. approximately 59?53~N/24?16~E.
