They had single funnels and were painted dark blue. In Tuzla

2. Antiaircraft gunfire was observed along the coast in the vicinity of
Midia. During the firing a lighted flying target.
The lights of the searchlights converged on the target.
3. After entering the harbor the ship was boarded by an officer and nine men,
all armed; the ship's complement was assembled and searched. They were
primarily s hi .for telescho es and rifles but they also searched

3. Bands played dance music in the parks in Constanta during the afternoon
and members of the crew danced with the Rumanian girls. Most of the
people wore shabby and dirty clothes. Some asked crew members for their
old shirts. The ship's complement had their meals on board ship because
of the high prices of food ashore.
4. With the exception of the northern coast, the sea shore is closed to
swimming. Guards prohibit access to other parts of the coast.
