(FOR KEY SEE' REVERSE) 15 March 1955 25X1 ship wasen route from Murmansk to the Yenisey River area. On entering the sound between Kuzkina Island and the mainland at Kuznetsovskiy Point (N 72-1i2, E 80-45) ship ran into an area of strong magnetic disturbances. 2. At Peschanyy Point (N 72.02% E 80-48) there was a lighthouse which was not marked-on either the Admiralty chart or the-Soviet map. the lighthouse was new., andl it was painted red. The lighthouse emitted a signal consisting of two white flashes with 3. (ship ran aground at approximately N'70-35, E 83-x+0. The weather was thick, and the riper pilot steered by a spar buoy which indicated a shallow place. The ship slid gradually and almost unnoticeably onto a sand- bank. The pilot 'radioed for'a tugboat without the captainl,s permission, and the captain refused to-roake use of the tug,,which arrived three or'four hours later. The ship worked its way free by itself after having been on the bar for at least four hours. 25X1 25X1 4. On the west side of the'Yenisey River; about 201tO 30 nautical miles south of Dudinka (N 69-25, E -86-09) a twin-engined? passenger air- 25X1 craft, similar to a Dakota, which landed on a grassy strip. Nearby a single- engined aircraft was parked. Along the river, there was.a road which turned in toward a large building jwhich was a hangar. 11 r_'%1 A 5. three cargo vessels at the quay in Dudinka. One of the,-vessels had large bundles of netting and some buoys .on the after- deck.
