1. An intelligence sec on, an Itled o era a aera we , is in the
process of being established at the new KVP headquarters in Strausberg.

2. This section is to take over responsibility for such purely military questions
as are now dealt with by the Secretariat for State Security. Its tasks will
include the investigation of cases of KVP personnel who have fled to the West and
the prevention of attempts by these refugees to contact former colleagues.
3. The field of action of the new section is being worked out by the Operational
Coordination Staff (Koordinierungs-Operationsstab), headed by Major Generals
Mummler and Bonmann, and officials of the SFS. Candidates for the intelligence
section must be screened by the SFS and their appointment is subject to the
approval of the Cadre Section of the Central Committee of the SED.
4. The move of KVP headquarters units to Strausberg is continuing. The Transport,
Commisariat, Planning and Construction Sections are still in Berlin-Adlershof and
will probably remain there for the present. Most of the operations sections
have already moved to Strausberg.
