Prior to 3 February 1955, the barracks installation on Schumke Lake (3441)`in Sperenberg was occupied as previously by approximately 2,500 soldiers wearing black, red-bordered black and blue-bordered black epaulets with motor transport, construction engineer and signal insignia. 2. The 8 or 9 new barracks buildings on Hege Lake were believed to be occupied by a motor transport unit, a unit with amphibious vehicles and a unit with track-laying amphibious vehicles. Vehicles of these units were definitely observed in the sheds but the location of the personnel could not be definitely determined. 3. Between 18 January and 3 February, a column with 2 standard-type amphibious vehicles and 2 track-laying amphibious vehicles was observed. The two types were similar to each other, except for the chassis and the fact that the track-laying amphibious vehicle was approximately 1.5.meters longer than t),- other. Motor vehicles observed included: 25X1 Trucks Sedans Amphibious vehicles Tank truck and bust Ithe driver of which wore red-bordered black epaulets, were also observed. 1 4. Prior to 3 February, the Eisenbahnpionier Kaserne (3381) in Rehagen was occupied by approximately 2,000 soldiers wearing black, 'red-bordered black epaulets and blue-bordered black epaulets. An undetermined number 25X1 of soldiers practiced aiming with 3 x 85-mm AA guns. On 26 January, a total of 9 x 85-mm AA guns and 1 N-type radio truck with extended antenna were seen in the installation. On 1 February, 26 x 85-mm and 37-mm AA guns were seen. An undetermined number of soldiers drilled with some of the guns. _ other guns were being cleaned. At about 1915 on 25 January, a column of 9 tank trucks with trsiming trailers from the Eisenbahnpionier Kaserne entered the barracks installation on Schumke Lake. 6. motor vehicles were seen entering and leaving the i ab on: trucks the drivers of which wore re - o ere ac epaulets; and the drivers of which wore black epaulets. 7. Prior to 19 Janua , the Artillerie Kaserne,\(3281)'in Kummersdorf was occupied by a roximately 700 soldiers wearing redLbordered black epaulets with tank and motor transport insignia. 8. Approximately 30 trucks with 100 driver students were in the driving school area. About 75 percent of h trucks were ZIS- -t e trucks and 25 percent were GAZ-63-type trucks. 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 9? At 1?35 on 15 January, 6 track-laying amphibious vehicles were seen in Sperenberg en route toward Schumke Lake. 1 2. Comment. Between 26 January and 3 February, elements of the regiment of the 2d Gds AAA Div stationed in the Eisenbahnpionier Kaserne in Rehagen apparently returned from firing prat ices, since only 9 guns were in the installation on 26 January. 3.
