1. In early January 1955 the Chinese Communist authorities issued an official 25X1
announcement in Swatow to the effect that henceforth no city within China
with a population of lose than 500,000 was entitled to bang the photograph
of Dr. Sun Yat Sen at any public assembly or gathering.
2. The authorities also ordered that photographs of q#ina's five leaders were
to be the only photographs hung at public assemblies or gatherings. These
photographs were to be hung in the following order of priority:
a. MAO Tse-tung
b. LIU Shao -ch' i
c. CHOU En-tai
d. CHU Te
e. CH'EN Yun
