1. On 29 January 1955, 18 to 20 AT guns towed by trucks, 1 field
kitchen and about 400 soldiers moved out of the Putlitz Kaserne
(5482) in Rostock. At the same time, an AT artillery snit from
the Ulmen Kaserne (5481) left for exercises. It was learned that
the units returned during the night of 1 February 1955Y. 1
2. At 1330 on 2 February 1.955. the following troops and materiel was
unloaded from a train of about 30 flatcars and 15 converted
boxcars at the Potsdam freight station: 186l22-mm field guns
with primemovers, 3 x 76-mm field guns, 10 trucks, 1 field kitchen
and approximately 250 soldiers. 2
3. At 1200 on 2 February 1955, the following troops and materiel moved
into the Flak Kaserne (5641) in Wismar from an ea*terly direction:
18 x 122-mm field howitzers, 6 x 85-mm AT guns, 2 field guns of
76-mm, 6 x 5? mm AT guns, 4 x 120-mm mortars, 4 x 82-mm mortars,
about 106 trucks, 1 radio truck, 1 ambulance, 4 field kitchens 25X1
and about 1,000 soldiers.
4. At 1130 on -3 February. the following troops and materiel were
entrained at the Magdeburg-Brueokfeld railroad station:

About 15 of the trucks carried steel tube masts approximately 35 mm 25X1

6. At 1436.. 1851 and 2130 on 6 February, one train each from Alten-
grabow passed the Wustermark marshaling yard and proceeded to
Dallgow-Doeberitz. it 0300 o}7 Feb another train from
Altengrabow arrived in Dallgow. It carried 6 x 85-mm AT guns and
prime movers. 5
7. The following entrainments were handled in Dallgow-Doeberttz on
7 February

At 1630 s 12 x 122-mm field howitzers, 8 x 57-mm AT guns,
about 30 trucks and 9 boxcarloads of soldiers;
At 1700 s 6 x 122-mm field howitzers, 6 x 57-mm AT guns and
about 20 trucks. 6
8. On 5 February. 12 x 122-mm howitzers and about 60 trucks were
entrained at Nordbahnhof in Rathenow. The train left at 2330.
At the Rathenow main railroad station, 6 x 160-mm mortars,
1 x 120-mm mortar and about 70 trucks from the Pionier Kaserne
(5442) in Rathenow were entrained. The train moved out at 2400.
On 6 February. only trucks from the Kraftfahrer Kaserne (5443)
in Rathenow were entrained at Nordbahnhof and 16 rocket launchers
and trucks at the main railroad station. The shipment left in the
morning on 7 February. Very few soldiers were seen with all
shipments. On 8 February, the Infanterie Kaserne (5441), the
Pionier Kaserne and the Kraftfahrer Kaserne were occupied 50
percent and the Ziethen Kaserne (5444) was only lightly occupied.~7
1. e t ? It is believed that units of the 3d Gds AT Arty
Brig left for three-day exercises, possibly for Rostock Heath or to
Wustrow. The exercises were probably connected with firing practices
at night and winter bivouacs as was observed with the other
artillery units in the Soviet Zone of Germany.
2.F__~Comment. The trains carried units of the u/i gun artillery
brigade of the 34th Arty Div which returned from shortterm firing
practices at Alte rabow
Comment. I I units of the
199th Gds Gun Arty Regt and 288th Gds Mtz Rifle. Regt of the 94th
Gds Mtz Rifle Div moved into the Flak Kaserne. The units probably
returned from short-term firing practices which they had possibly
conducted in the firing area of die Lewitz southsoutheast of Schwerin.

probably were elements of the 105th Sig Regt.
LCQggteffi6t. The trains carried units of the 2d Light Arty Brig
which had transferred to Altengrabow in five shipments on 1 and 2
February
omnt. The weapons observed indicate that mixed artillery
units of the 1st Mecz Div were entrained and
moved to Forst Zinna in five shipments.
Comment. Observations at the post and data on weapons indicate
that headquarters units of the 11 IT Arty Corps, and elements of the
25th Gde RL Brig, the 65th Mort Brig and the 18th How Arty Brig were
entrained on 5 and 6 February. these
units were transferred to Belzig, Wissenburg and Altengrabow in 9
shipments
It is believed that firing practices were to be held in Altengrabow.
