A formation cf 7 Il-10s was once observed aloft. On 12 January, 36 I1-10s 25X1 were parked at the field. Six 37-mm AA guhs were cecn in the A ; gun 25X1 emplacement on the northern edge of the field. Thirty E_M conducted field training in the nearby vicinity. 1 2. Infanterie Kaserne The excavation and construction work in the ,,yard of the Infanter?ie K_ iserne were definitely connected with a fuel dump near which 3 tank trucka ..are repeatedly observed. Between 14 and 21 December and between 2 and 12 January, building No 1 was lighted to about 80 -percent and buildiniz. 3 was entirely lighted. Motor vehicles 25X1 were parked in front of the barracks installation. 25X1 3. Pionier Kaserne At 1845 on 12 January, the quartering buildings were entirely lighted and one third of the headquarters building. Contrary to previous observations, all of the buildings north of Einstein Strasse were lighted. This observation and the fact that many school children were observed led to tho assumption that new Soviet dependents had arrived, 25X1 25X1 25X1 4. The following observations were made at Brandenburg.Industriehafen airfield between 18 December 1954 and 3 January 1955: 1818 to 2020 December. No air activity was observed. At 0850, 2 11??103 took off and made one local flight at .an altitude of 500 meters. Between 0910 and 1525, there was intensiva 4.r activity by I1-10s which madeilocal flights. 25X1 25X1 Occasionally 6 II.-10s assembled in 2 flights, later a formation of 7 aircraft assembled and practiced formation flying in the surroundings of the field. Six I1-10s individually took off climbed to an altitude of 1,500 maters and individually dived over the field coming down to an altitude of 500 meters. The3e exercises lasted for 1 :hour. 22 to A0 December. There was no air activity. although the weathor was favorable on varicus days. On 22 Decenber, 34 aircraft were counted in front of the hangars in the eastern section of the field when seen from the leading to itauer_dorf. The other aircraft previously observed at the field. were presumed to be parked in the closed hangars. The aircraft which were parked in the open were covered with tarpaulins from the propeller to the rear elge of the cabin. A watchtower which was occupied by a sentry was' constructed at the western end of Einstein Strasse inside of the fence surrounding the field. 1 to January, There was no air activity. The cloud base was at 1,000 meters, vi.si'bili ty was limited to between 800 and 1,500 meters and it snowed. 1 o.;~ment.
