At some of the railroad stations involy a cars parked bl Ok sidings; moreover, the parking of so many boxca iacreased the sh age of rolling stock in the country. The Czech rairloa&administration was, allegedly, compelled to borrow a25X1 number of boxcars from neighboring nouns. Comment. The information contained in the present report is believed to be correct. The measure reported was probably taken by order of the Soviets. The Soviets keep a reserve of locomotives and troop cars in bbrder areas for possible troop movements. Although there is a chronic shortage of rolling stock in the USSR, this reserve must never be drawn upon for non-military purposes. Approved For Release 2008/05/30: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA006300500008-2 _1
