On 22 January 1955, Oranienburg Castle still quartsrod an ec'.inated 400 to 500 men. The soldiers wore red-boriorod black cep? leap ppatelhec and epaulets with a silver letter "A". At about 'noon on 18 January 1955, an undetermined number of soldiers received training with '.2 x 37-mm AA guns and basic drill in the area of the installation. 3 7? In the fall of 1954, Colonel Lewerenz was co*_mandor of the artillery officer candidate school in Oranienburg Castle. There were tlreo training courses each of which lasted a year. The officer candidates attended the school for three years. 3 8. At 1000 on 21 January 1955, 80 officer candidates very ob: ervod at formal drill and training with rifles in the area of the Leibgards-::usaren aaerne in Potsdam. On 31 January 1955, 36 trucks, each of wLicu was occupied by 18 officer candidates who carried rifles, left tie installation and went toward Nodlitz. On this day, the installation was apparently occupied only slightly even after nightfall. Except for the signal school in Dossau all officer candidate schools mentioned in the present report are :mown. Since the report fails to mention the signal school in Halle this school has possibly moved, or will possibly move, to Dessau. by early August 1955. The r sport also fails to mention the infantry officer candidate school in I;aaribrurg which has been confirmed until January 1955, (see paragraph 4), the infantry officer candidate school in Erfurt and the engineer officer candidate school in Dessau. 2.I Comment. The service colors observed indicate that the installation quarters the tank `engineer officer candidate school - presumably Office Erfurt IV - and the ordnance engineer officer candidate school ac reported previously. Comment. Oranienburg Castle is occupiod by the JU officer candidate school. Comment. The Leibgarde-Husarcn Kacorne quarters the motor trananort 4. of ice, candidate school.
