Comment. The installation on Schumke Lake appeared to be
occupied as previously by the units with amphibious vehicles of
both types.
Comment. The columns of tank trucks which were repeatedly
seen in the installation on Schumke Lake presumably supplied the
units of the Third Gds Mecz Army stationed in the `~Nuensdorf area
and, possibly, units of the GSFG from the fuel depot of the Third
Gds Mecz Army in Kummersdorf. The numbers of the tarL> vehicles
are believed to belon; to GSFG.
3. ~~ Comment. The motor vehicle in the
Sperenberg area are believed to belong to GSF , e Third Gds
Mecz Army and the 2d Gds AAA Div.
Comment. Units of the 2d Gds AAA Div are confirmed
Eisenbahnpionier Kaserne (3381) in Rehagen by weapons
observed there.
Comment. The information indicates no major changes in the
occupation of the Artillerie Kaserne in Kummersdorf. Information
on the exercises checks with observations at other posts in the
zone. The partial coveriz~; of field trenches may be a protective
Measure in case of employment of atomic weapons . T~1ost of the
motor vehicle 0 seen in the installation are believed to
belong to GSFG.
~ Comment. A column of the elements :~f the 56th T~otor Trans
Refit of "S~~G stationed in the Lute Kaserne presumably conducted
a march practice toward the Elbe River. Exercises of major units
on the Elbe River in the '~'ittenberge or '~ittenberg area have not
been obser~red so far.
Comment. In addition to elements of the units stationed
in the Lutz Kaserne, elements of the 70th Mecz Refit of the Qth
b7ecz Div from Neue Kaserne also participated in the post exercise
in ':Vuensdorf on 11 and 12 February.
8. (Comment. The engineer column observed oz~ll February
robably belonged to the 35th Engr Refit of the Third Gds T~Zecz
Army.
g. ~Coe,ment. The exercise which was held in the Hege Lake
area on 14 February presumably inv_lved elements of the 35th
Engr Refit and the loth Mecz Refit of the 9th Mecz Div. Tanks
have not been observed with army engineer units so far.
~ Cou~ment ~ ~ the driving school vehicles are
believed to belong to units of GSFG stationed at Kw~~mersdorf
where the bulk of the 56th Motor Trans Refit of GSFG is quartered
in the Artillerie Kaserne (3231).
