1. Chinese Communist troop units were stationed
locations in Amoy:

a. Border Defense Troops (Pion Fang Pu Tui, 6708/7089/6752 7130), 1icinity
of the Hsia Ho (0633/4421) Bus Company, PWU.. (3187/1546), Amoy.
b. Public Security Troops (Kung An Pu Tui, 0361/1344/6572/7130), provincial
hospital on the Esia Ho highway, Amoy.
c. Maritime Public Security Troops (Shui Shang Kung An Pu Tui, 3055/0006/-
0361/134+4/6572/7130) Amoy Headquarters, former Agricultural and Forestry
Company warehouse near the No. 5 pier just off the Hsia Ho highway
adjacent to the Amoy shipyard.
The headquarters of the Communist 7 Army Group, which was rumored recently
to have been transferred from Canton to either.. the Amoy area, or to Changchou
(3361/1558) and its surrounding area, has been established at the Huf'ou_.
(5706/7333) Hill, Amoy. Its troops were stationed at Huch'iyen (5706/3305/
1484), on the hills near Hungshanssu (7703/1472/1408) and in the area of
Hoshan (4421/1472). The men wore no identification2except a badge indicating
that they belonged to the People's Liberation Army.
There was a guerrilla unit attached to the 7 Army Group (4574/0003/0365/0957).
Its headquarters was at the quarantine station near the Ma Tsu (1265/4371)
Pier, to the left of the Lu Chiang (7752/3068) Ferry pier in Amoy. All the
approximately 500 members of this unit wore black Chinese suits. They were
armed with submachine guns. All were well built and spent money freely. They
were often seen swimming in the harbor.

4+. Many military vehicles, mostly with six or ten wheels, have been seen at
night in the Amoy area.
5. coastal defense troops were seen moving over 40 artillery 25X1
pieces to the No. 5 pier, Amoy. During the time of unloading, the pier was
restricted.
1. The border defense troops are probably public security troops assigned
to border defense duties.
