1. A new radar factory has been set up near the southern boundary of Inowroclaw
(N52-48, E18-16). The factory is located vest of the Inowroclaw-Strelno road; one
kilometer farther south there is a group of huts used for storage purposes.
2. The factory was built in 1952 by order of the Soviets. Production of special radar
apparatus, based on Soviet blueprints, was begun in March 1953. All of the factory
equipment came from the USSR; it is the most modern in Poland.
3. As a rule the factory manufactures only large transmitters with one-half-wave dipole
antennas. In addition, however, prior to July 1954, it began to make radar-controlled
searchlights. The radar antennas are coupled directly to the focusing mechanism of
the searchlights, which automatically direct their light beams toward the target
which is sought. These antennas are made with a round mirror with grill behind the
antenna itself. This arrangement limits the physical length of the apparatus and
makes it easily maneuverable. The blueprints are kept-'in strictest secrecy.
4.
The factory management is made up of the following:
Mfilitary controller: Engineer Major Bents . ulioh Gribovskj.
Director Engineer MTlalav Stankiewicz
Deputy Director : Engineer Joa Roseiaki
Scientific Director: Prof. Dr. Kasimiers Zdenikowski
5. Factory personnel. is made up of the following: 5 shop foremen; 16 crew foremen; 48
skilled workers; 12 electrotechnicians for high frequencies; 120 women (sic); 210
unskilled workers, 92 steel workers; 16 technicians in the drafting office; 7 shop
assistants; 8 inspectors; 14 office workers, male; 8 atenotypists, 2 attendants.
6. In 1953 production at the factory was as follows: 12 complete radar transmitters;
6 radar sets with searchlights installed on 6-ton trucks All of this equipment
was consigned to the USSR.
