1. Location.
The fuel depot at TarnaszentmGria (N 47-52, B 20-].2) is situate,:, It the band of the

2. Antiaircraft Positi o .
Concrete antiaircraft gun emplacements are placed along the semicircular part
of the area. (See sketch)
3. Sec u~?
The entire fuel depot is surrounded by two barbed-wire fences. between these
two barbed-wire fences, which are 8 m. apart, 5-7 m. high observation towers
were built. The observation towers are equipped with searchlights and manned
day and night. The searchlights are turned on all night. The areas between
the observation towers are being constantly patrolled. The depot grounds are
well covered with trees and bushes.
4. Bui_n?s.
a. The industrial siding branches off from the Tarnaszentmaria railroad
station in westerly direction, continues on in southerly direction and,
after an arc sweeping to the west, it ends in the center of the fuel depot
in a U-shaped ramp.
b. In the northern third of the semicircle there is a barracks building for the
ground units of the Hungarian Air Force. The barracks is a 50x18 m. two-
story building.
c. There is also a 25x8 m. headquarters and guard building (see No. 5 of the
sketch), which is located north of the barracks building on the semicircle.

d. Gast of the headquarters building there is a garage (i4o. 6 of the sketch)
which can accommodate 10 motor vehicles.
e. The main entrance is at the southern corner of the area.
5. Fuel Installations.
a. All over the area, there are fuel tanks made of reinforced concrete.
These are 10 m. below ground, and have a diameter of 3 in. each. Every
two of these fuel tanks have one pumping station.
b. At the end of the industrial siding there are eight automatic twin-arm
pumps, which make it possible to unload 16 railroad tank cars at the same
time. The general talk among the service crew is that a quantity equalling
2,000 tank cars of fuel is stored in the area.
6. 1ectric Power.
Electricity for lighting as well as for propulsion of motors and for the
operation of pumps is obtained from the regional closed circuit. However,
large aggregates with great capacities are kept in reserve.
