The inspection covered two tank regiments. Whereas one regiment received a
commendation, the commander of the other regiment was reprimanded for the regi-
ments poor performance during an alert. One battalion from each regiment was
hereafter it was imperative that 25X1
full attention be given to the stuay of the technical aspects of armor and the
training of all tank troops in proper maintenance.
3. There are no indications of an reduction in Soviet troop strength in Austria.
There is a ?,-umor that there will be no dependent school in 25X1
Baden next year. personne re uctions are still in progress. Additional
reductions in personnel at the Soviet headquattters in the Hotel Imperial, Vienna,
are expected in May.
