Recruiting for the Internal Security Corps (KBW) is carried out by the 25X1 District Recruiting Center (WKR). Men selected must belong to Category A, which signifies that they are of proletarian origin, members of the Com- munist Party, and have no relatives abroad. 2., Men enlisted in the KBW, in addition to normal military training, are taught antipartisan fighting, sabotage, antisabotage, and security measures. 25X1 3. KBW Headquarters (Komenda Glowna KBW) are on ul. Rakowicka, Warsaw. 4. The pick of the KBW are drafted into the Ochrona Rzadu (OR), a unit the duty of which is to protect government officials and buildings., 5. The Warsaw barracks of the OR are in the Belvedere which is the official residence of President Boleslaw Bierut who, however, generally stays in a villa at Czerniakow (R53/LO8) which formerly belonged to the Frdz-Smigly family. 6. Discipline in the OR is particularly stringent. The men in this unit are given a special three months' training course in which political and ideologicE 25X1 subjects form the greater part. 7. Upon completing their two years'compulsory service, members of the OR attend an eight months' course at Legionawo (N 52-24, E 20-56). On completion of the course they are posted to the Security Police, the Intelligence Service, given special civilian employment, or detailed as bodyguards to Bierut or other members of the government. 8. A special unit of the OR, which has five aircraft always in a state of readiness at its disposal, is stationed on the Warsaw-Okecie Airfield.
