1. Passports have recently been issued in Wars*-w to Polish citizens who wish to visit
Soviet-annexed Eastern Poland. Each applicant presents to the Polish passport office
a statement from the Soviet Embassy in Warsaw, written in Russian, that the applicant
will be granted a permit to enter and stair for three months in the area concerned.
2. A number of Polish citizens of German origin applied rsoently for, extension of their
Polish passport which they had received for a visitin East Germany. The reason for
the unusual number of applicants was the East -Garman consul's delay, for unknown
reasons, in granting the visas.
